Visit to Halle and Merseburg 2008-05-03/-04
Google Maps shows pictures (click on coordinates) from around last year (autumn 2007) where you still see lots of construction works. N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW designate the direction the camera was facing.
I was on foot for 5 straight hours on the first day, walking about 20.23 km. On the second day, I went 10.25 km according to map tracing. Besides the obvious “flat feet”, the amazing weather got me a slight sunburn.

2009-May-11 03:09:14 – (NW) The complete area was redesigned in the last two years. The traffic mess that existed for the previous 20+ years — where tram and road traffic were on the (now) mid-level — is finally gone. The entire area has been bulldozed, creating a new lower level where tram rolls now. The high road with the blue grating always existed, though the pillars were reworked as you can see in this picture. |
